Money In The Bank #MITB Predictions

29 Jun

My WMXXX predictions were not up to my standards, so here goes my shot at redemption.  WWE invades TD Garden in Boston tonight for what’s perennially one of the best shows of the year.  Here’s what I’m expecting to see tonight…

Pre-Show Kickoff interview with Daniel Bryan: Not exactly sure what to expect, but I don’t think Bryan will be returning to action anytime before SummerSlam, if by then at all.  I do think we’ll see some sort of angle with The Authority on the Kickoff Show tonight as they have the perfect opportunity to sell more WWE Network subscriptions and get the most-over face in the company back in the spotlight as he’s been off TV for a while now.

Rusev vs. Big E:  No brainer here.  Monster push for Rusev.  Lana screams “Rusev crush!!”  It’ll be over shortly after that.  Winner: Rusev

Summer Rae vs. Layla (Fandango as guest ref): Does anyone really care about this?  I stopped watching Total Divas too since Legends House blows it away.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fandango turn on his sweet Layla and help Summer Rae so they can hook up again.  Plus Layla’s past her prime and Summer Rae is still considered one of the BFFs!  Winner: Summer Rae

Goldust/Stardust vs. Rybaxel: I hate Rybaxel.  I was actually a big fan of Curtis Axel when he was announced as Heyman’s guy what seems an eternity ago before he won the IC Title.  Goldust is actually still entertaining and in great shape for being one of the older guys in the locker room.  Ryback is a complete waste of time.  I see the push going to the boys in gold here.  Winner: Goldust/Stardust

Paige vs. Naomi for Divas Championship: More success for the young blood.  Have I mentioned I’m now a big NXT fan since becoming a WWE Network subscriber?  Paige should have a bright career ahead of her and I think her title reign is safe and just getting started.  Until Charlotte arrives on the main roster, I don’t see the belt changing hands quite yet.  Let’s finally do away with this Funcadactyl duo.  Maybe Cameron (Arianne) will snap and slap her friend/partner/foe Naomi (Trinity) and cause the loss.  Winner: Paige, retains Divas title

Usos vs. Wyatt Family for WWE Tag Team Championship:  I’m sick of the Usos.  Just being honest here.  They’ve had the belts way too long.  I wanted them to lose to the Real Americans at Wrestlemania XXX.  Harper and Rowan can work for two big guys.  The crowd loves the Wyatts, and did you hear their new entrance music – that creepy version of “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands?”  Get the smartphone lights ready and dim the lights.  One of the Usos will run into Harper’s version of a clothesline from hell.  1-2-3. New Champs! Winners: Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, NEW Tag Team Champions

Money In The Bank Contract Ladder Match: Is there any chance that Wade Barrett actually participates in this match with a separated shoulder?  If not, is there any chance of a surprise replacement?  How awesome would it be to see Brock Lesnar all of a sudden come out and destroy whoever’s still standing and ascend the ladder and grab that briefcase?  What a storyline that would be as the champ would always be looking over his shoulder and wondering when Lesnar was coming to cash in.  But alas, I don’t see it happening.  We’ll see Lesnar sometime before SummerSlam but likely not in a MITB capacity.  There may be some good spots in the match by these guys, but there’s absolutely no chance in you know what that Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, or Rob Van Dam win this match.  I wish they’d give Dolph Ziggler another big push and potential title run, but I don’t see that happening either.  So without Barrett that pretty much leaves the SHIELD remnants of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.  Rollins is now Authority material and I can’t imagine Ambrose and WWE World Heavyweight Championship being one anytime soon.  I love Rollins’ Curb Stomp too much.  Winner: Seth Rollins, new Mr. Money In The Bank

Ladder Match for WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
How and why is Alberto Del Rio even in this match.  Give me a freakin’ break!
Sheamus – Current US Champion (whatever that’s worth because the title is rarely defended).  He’s not getting two more belts to carry around.
The Demon Kane – What happened to The Big Red Monster Kane?  I feel he was a worthy championship contender 10 years ago, although he can still work a decent match for his age and size.
Bray Wyatt – Down 2-1 in the Cena feud.  Can’t see the company putting the belt(s) around his good sized waist yet.  Crowd loves this guy but he still needs another year or so of grooming in the big leagues.
Cesaro – Heyman’s client Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.  Ever heard that before?  Can Heyman’s new sidekick be pushed to the max tonight and grab that yellow hanger that holds the belts.  YES he can, but he won’t tonight.  Crowd loves him and maybe we’ll get Cena in the Cesaro swing tonight (which the crowd will eat up), but he’s not walking out with the title.
Roman Reigns – Talk about still needing some grooming.  I think we can all see the company WANTS Reigns to be the future.  Is he ready to run with it?  Possibly, but I don’t expect it’s coming tonight.  Great Rumble performance.  Great reaction when the qualifying Battle Royal came down to him and Rusev.  He’ll definitely get some spears tonight, but he might actually get FU’d or RKO’d off the ladder.
That leaves me with Randy Orton and John Cena.  Really?  What is this – 2011 and 2012 all over again?  I don’t want to see it but I’m expecting it so I’m not pissed off at 10:47 or whatever time it is when the PPV goes off the air.  One of these guys will be a safe bet to be Champion for the next two months taking us to SummerSlam in August.  Regardless if it’s Bryan returning then to challenge for the title, or maybe that’s when Reigns or Cesaro finally get the chance to run as Champ, tonight it’s possibly Orton but more likely the hometown West Newbury native Cena is golden again.  Hey, just figured I’d throw this out there.  Any chance CHT happens tonight enroute to the Championship?  CHT is what those of us waiting for the last several years affectionately call a Cena Heel Turn.  How awesome would that be to happen in Boston?  Possibly as shocking as the Hogan heel turn when he formed the original NWO.  We can dream, but don’t hold your breath.
Winner: John Cena, NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion

LEGO’s Newest Games Will Absolutely Blow Your Mind

19 Jun

TIME

LEGO, makers of everybody’s favorite toy plastic bricks, announced its latest creation Thursday: LEGO Fusion, which combines tablet games with physical bricks to blend kids’ digital and physical worlds.

TIME got a demonstration of one of the tablet games, which works like this: You play the mayor of a town who’s charged with building houses, stores and other structures for residents to enjoy. To put together a building in the digital game, you have to use a special version of LEGO’s physical bricks, then scan your real-life creation into the mobile app.

While the software was still in beta at the time of the test, it ran well and accurately scanned TIME’s creations, effortlessly transporting them from tabletop to tablet. Kids (and adults!) playing the game will be able to share their creations online with far-flung friends or nearby siblings, or visit other LEGO cities to get ideas for their…
